Default brake fluid vs. paint

Tittle says it all. Paint lost. I had the upper controls off overnight waiting for a part, and left the master cylinder a little off center. I noticed it was a bit wet when I went to reinstall it, and guess where it all dripped onto? So here is my question: my front fender is two-tone, and only the pearl white section was damaged. Can a painter redo that section only and not have to paint the whole fender? Keep in mind I want top results and not just a patch job... The damage isn't horrible, but I can't buff it out and it will drive me nuts. It's a bunch of little drops and a few little drip marks.

A good paint guy should be able to fix it. Good luck.

Dude, that stinks. A good painter should be able to match it and make it look like it never happpened. Given that and the fender is relatively small, he may recommend doing the whole thing.

I thought that, btu if he just did the white he'd only have to match one color. With colors like that, there is always the risk of not getting it right.

Yeah, if it was a single color, I wouldn't even think of just getting it patched up, but two colors and the pinstripe might be a tough one to match perfect.

I took a buffer to it last night with some decent results but it's not perfect. Unless you really look for it you can't see it but knowing it's there bothers me enough that I'm gonna get it fixed. Only problem is that the painter said pearl white can be hard to match. Hope it looks better, not worse... Anyways, would $250-$275 sound like a fair price? I figure I've spent a lot more and the bike for less important things, I'm just not sure if that is the going rate for a job like that.

I would have said $500 would be asked for it.
