I was hoping that I could get some help. First, can anyone tell me a good place (online, preferably with pics) that I can find some used aftermarket pipes for my 2000 Heritage Softail Classic for a little less than what I am finding on the typical sites. Used is ideal, they don't have to be perfect, imperfections are ok. I have had my heart set on Vance and Hines Long Shots but have even considered straight shot slip ons. I want the bike loud but not neighbors hating me loud. As you can tell, I am new to Bikes and to modifications...lol. So please, be gentle. I am open to suggestions for pipes as well. The only thing I am not open to at all are 2-into1 setups.
Next, I am wondering if anyone can tell me what the widest possible rear tire size I can go up to on my bike without putting in a rear wheel tire widening kit. I love this bike, but I am trying to make it look....a little more my age.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I would watch eBay for the pipes. And for whatever my advice is worth...Don't be in a massive rush to buy your pipes. The look and sound in my book is probably one of the most important mods your gonna make. Your gonna have to hear it every time you start it. I rushed out with my first bike years ago and bought a nice shiny new set of pipes for my bike that lowered my torque and sounding like crap. Wound up spending the double the money to do it right the second time.
Longshots are LOUD. As in other riders suggesting I get baffles LOUD. Be prepared to buy baffles. Love the sound they make. Love the look. The only other pipe that would interest me would be Big Shots Long.
