A buddy at work just purchased an 02 fatboy and is willing to purchase the pipes off my bike, BSS.I was also inclined to change them to another set anyways mostly just for new look and change.Could you guys give me some recommendations.Never really looked into new pipes since i originally got the BSS.My understanding that reinhart are very well liked.I like the deep rumble/throaty sound if that helps.
I once read here on the forum somewhere that the best way to pick out pipes is to go to some sort of bike event, where you can hear a variety of pipes on bikes similar to yours, then ask the guy what they are. I mean, I can tell you what I like, but until you hear it, it's not gonna be a lot of help.
Stick with pipes that have classic/traditional lines. From what I've seen in your gallery your bike doesn't need a set of pipes that will take away from your wheels and other chrome work. I've heard great things about the Rinehearts (sp?) and have heard them, they sound like a good match for you in both aspects.
Not sure which configuration you havewith those beautiful BSS, but have you tried the quiet baffles in them yet?
Quiet is a mis-used term of their effect. You get a deeper rumble. If you already have the QBs in there, go back to the standard baffles for a while.
Your pipes look perfect with everything you've done. Of course you could try V&H short shots. You'd keep the same lines you've got now, and take everything to a new level of crazy.
I do have the quiet baffles in now.had the Big city's before.I was just inquiring to see about a possible new change. If its not for the better obviously i wont.I'll take in consideration everyones reply. We'll see what i'll do,maybe nothing.I plan on changing the tins anyways which is a bigger priority.
I think if i change i'll look hard at the reinhart flush, not sure about 2-1.Anyone know i its true that i may loose some power w/reinhart?I think i read somewhere something about that.
