Thanks for all of the information. I am planning a in-tank fuel filter replacement and thought this upgrade would be a good idea at the same time (and I also suspect I have a problem in-tank as the last gallon of gas in the tank is not easy to use (stalls at stops).
My question: does anyone know the length of the stock in-tank hoses and the ideal length of the modified ones. I ask because I am finding a source for in-tank hoses that are considerably less expensive than the sources in this post.
I can choose between the 8.78-inch flex hose is $4.00, the 10.87-inch flex hose is $5.00 and the 14.80-inch flex hose is $6.00. Further, if I go with the submersible "rubber style" fuel line like in the OP, I can get the hose for $6 per foot. I know the second option is simpler to choose, but I like the idea of a shorter flex hose option as well.
Any help with the exact modified sizes would be greatly appreciated. I want to have the hoses on-hand before i start the project. As soon as I get done, I will do a write-up and share the sources so folks can go directly to them.
