Default Fatboy Seat Help

I have an 08 fatboy with a stock seat. My most recent ride was an 01 electra glide and I had no problem staying in the seat until I needed to gas up and made many 600+ mile days. I didn't expect the fatboy seat to be as plush but the difference is night and day. After about 50 miles my *** is numb and if I push it to 100 I'm miserable. I love the looks of the seat and it is an anniversary model so the seat color matches the bike and I hate to swap it. What are my options. I have heard there are places that can replace the padding in your seat. Anyone have experience with this and what kind of money are we talking about.

Harley sells a "Sundowner" seat that matches the original styling, I'm going to give one a try.

You will get as many opinions as azzes. Add mine: Mustang with a backrest. Mustang seats are built on a metal pan or baseplate...Sundowners are plastic. Quality is altogether superior, IMO.

+1 on Sundowner and 1/2 the price of others. FYI, I work in Harley Parts for a Platinum Dealer in the Northwest and we sell 5 times the Sundowners to Mustangs (without ever having 1 returned because th pan is plastic). At our dealership, we have demo Sundowners that we put on customer's bikes, you test it out and by, or don't Seats are a very personal fit and you should try before you buy, if possible. Good luck.
