Default Fat Boy floorboard upgrades?

Since I bought my Fat Boy in June, I have been steadily adding bling as quickly as the budget has allowed. The next part I think needs attention is the bland, stock floorboards. The problem is that the couple I have found that seem to flow well with my diamond/chrome grips and brake pedal are NOT the isolation type that comes stock on the bike. So I am asking to hear reviews and opinions from people who run non isolated floorboards. Is there a huge difference from the stockers, or virtually none? Do you even notice the inch lower feel without the floating rubber pads? Are you sorry you made the swap from the stockers or would you never go back to the factory piece? Please advise, and pictures of what you are running would be very much appreciated.

Here's what I am looking at:

1. http://www.debrix.com/BILLET-Floorbo...27-0963-vt.htm

2. http://www.debrix.com/Driver-Floorbo...27-0809-vt.htm

and maybe these as they are an exact match to my current parts:

I love my Yaffe boards!! I notice only a small diff. I actually like the more solid feel. Sure, the stockers feel a little mushier, but I ryde all day with mine and don't miss the stockers at all.

My Ness floorboards are what you refer to as non isolated although they do have rubber strips and therefore are similar to what you show. I dont notice any vibration, they are great.

Secondly what you show are made in china, I had a similar set awhile back and what happened was when they were made they drilled the right size holes for the HD shoulder bolts but then chromed them and my bolts wouldn't fit through. I had to drill them out. The chrome was also shoddy and the rubber pieces wore down fast. I would advise you to save your money for a good top end American made set. My ness were $350 and are worth every penny. They really set the bike off. Those China boards will cheapen the over all look of your bike and you have a nice bike that deserves a nice set of boards.

just my $.02

Thank you, my friend!

I got them with the wedgy brake too. When you look at them from the ryder's pov, they blend together perfectly and seem to be all one piece. A lot more room then the stockers too to move around. The only problem was the wait. Yaffe's production is so freakin slow, from what I understand. It took almost 10 weeks to my door from after I ordered them. And patience is not one of my strong suits.

Damn-it. I totally forgot about the China thing. Not long ago I said to myself, that when ever possible I will not China-ize my motorcycle. Ness, Trotta and Yaffe make excellent products but they didn't even enter my thought process as I was just using Google to find whats available for my bike. I guess when I saw sixty and seventy bucks, I stopped looking further. What is so discouraging is I can buy five freaking pairs for the price of one quality set. Thats not "a little extra", or 200-300% more. Thats 500 percent more. Thats a pretty wide margin that my brain needs to reconcile. I will have to figure a way to do it, even if it means picking up a used set. Thanks for the input, even though I wound up going an entirely different direction as I originally intended.

Well my Ness cost $430 if you count what I paid for the lesson I learned.

Once you get a set in your hands you can really appreciate the work and materials that went into the price.

Aftermarket foot boards make or break a look, even good quality boards can ruin the style if they aren't the right ones. Good luck!

J, your bike is so outside the box...as always Im digging your flow brother. One change though...I think you should cut the fishtails off and have somebody make you a custom hand fabbed set in the shape of JD bottles...then put the flame throwers on! Haha
