Well, I would change them if I didn't have to wait to bet them. My time is limited so I need to change the fluids today and if I wait on the o-rings, I won't get them until atleast mid week. Of course, if I take them out and see that any of them are damaged, I will certainly wait and change them.
I know I read somewhere on here that someone bought the o-rings at Lowe's. If that's the case, I could run and get some because I have a Lowe's about a mile from my home. Anyone know what size they are or have a Lowe's part #?
O-ring need/should be relpaced every time. If they are flatten out, torn, or stretched out then relpace them.. I've never pulled one that wasn't one of the above.
Pri gasket, I reuse now. But I used to replace every time, Mine has been on for 3 changes and it still don't leak.. I change oils @X2 a year. totally diff than an O-ring.

Thanks man, I think I will wait until I can get some o-rings. I may just run up to the dealership and pay $2 for 3 of them just so I can get this done tomorrow. I probably won't change the fluids again this year so I can get order the o-rings off ebay for next season. Wish I had time to ride more but I only ride about 500-1000 miles a month.
Since is the first of many changes, the above info is great. But as a rule I always bulk buy my o-rings. You can get virtually a lifetime supply from ebay or amazon fo peanuts. I buy 20 packs all sealed in a bag and keep them in my tool box. Then this will never be an issue again. Just sayin'.

I should have taken pictures of my o-rings... man, they were TRASHED! I ended up having to go to the dealership and just bought the $5 pack that has the derby gasket also and changed them all.
My guess is the dealership (not a Harley store but a Harley dealer...they also sell metrics) did nothing to my bike when they got it in. They SAID they inspected it ... yada yada... but again, my guess is these o-rings are the originals ones, they were that bad. No wonder I noticed small leaks on my garage floor, it was nothing big so I didn't think anything of it.
Welp, they are all replaced now and all fluids changed. It feels great to do the work yourself and save about $300.

Yea but dont get the super cheep one's. A tractor shop or auto suply place is the best if you dont know what you are looking for.

I hear ya man, I will for sure be buying them in bulk over winter. Don't want to have to run to the dealership again just for o-rings. lol
This feels so good I had to say it again... it feels GREAT to do the work yourself and you know it is done RIGHT.
I ended up using Mobil 1 Syn 20/50 in the engine (3 QTS) and primary (1 QT) and used Mobil 1 75W140 (1 QT) in the tranny.
When I went to the dealership to get the o-ring set, there was a Harbor Freight right near it so I was able to grab an in lb torque wrench and a 3/8 Ball Allen socket ... the job went smooth as silk.
Now I just need to figure out what to do with my old oil. lol I think that Advanced Auto, Pep Boys, etc will take old oil but I am not sure how to get it to them with it being in an open oil pan. I guess I should have bought one that I could close. DOH!
