Is it common for the tranny drain plug to loosen up?
I noticed a drop of oil on the garage floor and checked the plug.
Whats the torque setting on the plug?
I replace the o-ring each time and also use Permatex thread sealant.
I helped a friend bump the preload on his Heritage shocks the other day and his plug was loose also.
You are probably using wrong o-ring. Nothing fancy..just the soft buna N black o-ring. As designed the o-ring is an OD seal, not face. The metal face goes metal to metal to keep it tight. Some one could have over tighten or damaged yours. If you can get it high enough and peer up in there the inner chamfer should be shinny and smooth 360. Bolt groove at end of threads were bolt face is should also be smooth. As designed, they are used all over submarines and work fine. This fitting is designed to not leak. It was never intended to seal on threads and not sealer should be used. Previous to 04 and and even on some of them, the primary has a smaller NPT tapper pipe plug in primary (mine does) This require sealer or pipe ribbon tape. (my preference)
