Default Inside of tank peeling?

I am attempting to track down why I wasnt getting enough fuel, thinking I had bad gas that gummed up something. So I drain the tank. I removed the plate on top and check the inside of my tank and the grey "paint" inside my tank appears to be bubbling up in some areas and cracked and peeling in others. Has anyone else had this problem? I have a carbed 03 Deuce that will crank but not run. Have replaced plugs battery and am attempting to clean fuel lines if I can. Just sprayed cleaner on the carb jets, and float seems to be moving freely.

Yup..... Mostly 02's, but some 03's were known to have the liner peel away....

It certainly will clog the fuel line.

I have heard of, but not seen, tank liners peeling on the HD tanks. They have to be sent in for redo I believe... or buy a new tank.

I had my tank welded at the rear mount and the liner came loose. I ended up using Kreem and no issues since. Another place to get it done it to take it to a radiator shop. They can clean and coat it for about $180

I had the exact problem of liner peeling with a replacement tank from a 2000 model.
Used this product and it encapsulated everything. No more issues.
The only disadvantage is tank volume is now reduced by a quart.
