I agree with all of you, think back at eveytime a new model of anything comes out, there will be opinions. i read the whole thread on the aligment problem and to behonest, my 01 fatty back tire is not in the middle of the fender. listen to the guys that ride em everyday. i got 9000 miles on it and it runs awsome. was getting ready to spend more money on her but am thinking of starting over with an 07 fatty. love the looks(except for the rims), sorry, but i will deal with it for a little while. i've been debating on it for a while, but will probably go forward with it. the 200 tire, 96 motor, 6 speed tranny, by the time i would do that to my bike + other mods., i might as well get the new one, and start back over with the options.
I'd have to agree on the wheels. At the very least I'd like to have them chromed or changed all together. I think they are too plain. Love the 50 cal holes though. Just not happy with the finish.
To the guys with an 07, what is the actual rim and tire size front and back on the 07models. would possibly like to start looking at some wheels.
big thanks
Just turned 1100 mi on my '07 Suede Blue Pearl Fat Boy. No problems here. Had the "enhancement" or recall or whatever- the dealership was vauge on what it really was, I think they richened up the mix, but it ran even better. Changed to synthetic oil, so might run cooler-did seem a little hot in stop and go traffic before, but wasn't broken in and was probably leaner then. Heard that Harley leaves new bikes a little lean because of Calif. smog standards and that may make them run a little hot (am I right about that? I'm no mechanic, but from what I've read, that is the case). Also, look at front forks if you buy a new 07 Fat Boy there should be a notch in the fork covers. Thats a recall on early 07's because the covers can come down and scratch or dent the front fender. I didn't have 'em and when I took my bike in for the 1000 mi.tuneup the dealer said they were going to order some and would call and put them on when they came in.
Had the bike over 90MPH for the first time yesterday. Changed into 6th gear at about 70. Only problem was that I felt like I was gonna get blown off the bike! Guess I need a windshield.
