Default 1989 softail, pull the trigger?

I came across a 1989 all original softail...custom? in an old shed yesterday.
It has @15k miles and hasnt been started since 1993. I didnt have a flashlight with me so didnt get a real good look at it. From what I saw it appeared to be comeplete. I have a 2010 1200c that I drive daily but when
my wife hops on the back the suspension is not enough for us. If I was to
offer on this bike would it offer a better ride than my sporty? I know absolutely nothing about this era of softails just what I have tried to find on this board. I am fairly handy with a wrench and meter, so I am not too concerned about doing some work, if its going to help out on 2 up riding...I will keep my sporty for my work horse.

I guess the 1st question is: What's wrong with it that it hasn't been run for almost 20 years? Seals will have dry rotted, tires the same. Carb will probably be all gunked up. But, yes it will be better for 2-up riding. How much is it? How many miles? It may be complete, but may be a basket case anyway. Pictures would help.

For sure it's gonna need some work. Like Machinistmate said, pretty much everything rubber is likely to be shot. Just keep that in mind and don't pay to much.

The ole boy parked it for the winter in 1993, and never got her out again, it had been covered up with a tarp. I think it would be a cool project to get her goin again, but dont want to spend alot of time and cash on something that wont gain me in hauling the ole lady around. That being said this could easily be a money pit, as I am well aware of what happens from setting, that tank is probably a mess as is all the rubber etc.etc. I will try and get it dug out in the next week if time permits and get some pics.
