Not sure if I did this correct. Does the tail light only come on when hitting the brakes or is it like a car and is supposed to be "on" but dim until the brakes are applied?
My new one comes on when the brakes are applied but there is no "running" brake light. Not sure if I did something wrong or if that's the way its supposed to be. There was a blue wire that I am not sure what it does or if I installed it properly so I'm wondering if that has something to do with the running light....if there is one.
Forgot to add that I went ahead and bought a chrome with smoked lenses. I eventually want the TRI bar LED but I got a great deal on this light ($40) and was an easy switch. Here is the one I bought:
Geeeeessshhhhhhh.... I'm an idiot. I didn't install the blue wire correctly, it wasn't pushed in all the way. All is good now....looks better than having the red bullet back there and for $40, can't beat it. :-)
Your blinkers/running lights are covered in chrome and only visable from directly in front or behind, and now your tail light is the same way. The bullet styled lights are nice looking in the daylight but reduce visability from the side at night and covering the sides of your tail light in chrome does the same thing. I'm not talking about the reflectors, they don't help.
It's hard enough to get the cages to see us during daylight, can't see making it harder at night.
