Not Happy with PC3
"Canned"maps will never work as well as having the bike DYNO tuned. Power Commander has already addressed the 2007 model year stuff....they can more than handle the Harley Fuel Injection setup. Find a Tuner that actually knows what they're doing, and in 1 hour your bike will run like it's supposed to!

I know it's expensive, but even with the downloads, a DYNO tune is what will give you optimal performance and drivability. I have the Stage 1 download, and the Power Commander with Dyno tune gave me optimal characteristics, while allowing me to keep the higher RPM redline and bumped timing that I got from the Stage 1 download.

They should have a section in this forum for sharing fuel MAPS for the power PCIII and other units.

What others have said should be done. All I can add is that I have an 07 and I plan on using one of the auto tune units with wide-band 02 sensors. I just don't see the logicin eliminating the one thing that can tell your computerwhat isreally going on in the combustion chamber. I ran a PCIII on my 05 and loved it (along with V&H pipes and a Hyper Charger) but the new EFI systems, IMO, are beyond the PCIII's level of tech.

When you reference the "new EFI systems", what year models are you referring to.

While I would have to agree that this would be agreat idea, I don't believe that there is any add-onwide band/auto tune system currently avalable to fit on thestock ECM. As far as I knowonly the Thundermaxreplacement ECM system with the Auto-Tune addonis capable of actuallyusing of wide band O2 sensors on anything like a full time basis.
I wish they would make (for a reasonable price) something like an Auto-Tune to fit a stock ECM, but that's unlikely to happen because thefactory ECM doesn't have any provision for modifying its internal maps on the fly the way a true closed loop system would need.
If there is one out please let me know as I would be VERY interested in one. As it stands now the complete Thundermax w/Autotune is the only one and its going to set you back something like a little under $1000.

I bought a PC3 from Jamie at FuelMoto a couple weeks ago. I installed it and didn't really notice much. The bike still has a little backfiring on decel. Thats not my biggest gripe though. If I rev the engine from idle it will start to rev up then stutter then continue to rev. Its really annoying and I can't take off anymore from 0 throttle like I used to or it will almost stall because its stuttering.
My setup is the following:
Rush 2" baffle slip-ons
SE Air Cleaner kit
HD "download" or ECU reprogram
Torque smoothing service update
PC3
The bike was running fine without the PC3 but from reading posts on the forums about decel popping and how great the PC3 was I decided to get one.
The stuttering was really bad with the pre-canned map that I got loaded from FuelMoto. Since then I have installed the SE Slip-on map (#8 from the 07 softail page) from the PC3 site. Switching mapshas reduced the stuttering, but its still there.
Is there some sort of exhaust valve in the 07 Fatboy head pipe that could cause this?
Does anyone have any suggestions for me because you might be seeing a 07 PC3 in the Parts for Sale Forum real soon.

I stand by my opinion on this subject so far. I don't mind paying more for a product that really works. This new WEGO Auto-tune stuff is not actually that new. The salesman that sold me my first Nightrain had this stuff on his RoadGlide. He told me about it and how it worked, but at the time it was like $1700 and still new (late 04).
The PCIII may indeed be an improvement over stock, but I would rather keep my "auto-tune" feature than give it up. You put in a base map and then you ride. Done.
P.S. If and when I do it I will let everyone know how it works out.

When I went through the WEGO web site all it tells me is that the Auto Tune system "records" the AFR for up to two hours. Nowhere in there does it say anything about mudifying the ECM's maps for you. All I can find is that it records it and can display it so you can remap your ECM with a SERT or change the MAP in your PCIII.
Did I miss something? How does itinterface with a PCIII or your stock ECM?
