Default high oil pressure

hi all, i got my 8000km service done yesterday, and about 45 minutes down the road my dipstick blew out of my 2012 Heritage. the dealer brought me a new dipstick, and i continued on for another 2 hours before the new dipstick starting popping out. by now i was in the middle of nowhere, and ended up limping home with the dipstick out far enough to vent the pressure. i ended up riding like that for two hours. the dealership who did the service seems totally incompetent, but since they did the service and sold me the bike i feel like i need to deal with them. any ideas what could be causing this??

I don't think too much oil is the problem, a cold check shows up right at the fill line. On they way back, the oil level was about 3/4 of the way between the fill and full hot line when I checked it hot.

I just started the bike now, and it took about two minutes for the dipstick to pop up out of the spout, maybe not even quite that long. Oil temp was 83 when it popped

And yeah, I plan to get the heck away from that dealer!

Ok I found the problem, and will post in case this haPpens to someone else.

I got my service manual in the mail and started digging. Turns out there are two vents (one from each cylinder) that vent oil vapor back into the air intake. The idiot tech who worked on my bike had folded them over and pinched them off. Therefore the venting went back into the oil tank, causing extreme pressure and eventually blowing out the dipstick.

Ten minutes after I had the bike running perfectly again, the dealership called telling me to do what I had just done. They sounded surprised when I told them I had it fixed already. Needless to say, they are never touching my stuff again!

Now that you have the service manual there's no need to ever have a dealer do any work. For times you may need help (mount/balance tires etc.) find a good Indy and go there.

Also invest in a good set of tools, if you haven't already

What idiots to just bring you a new dipstick when there was something obviously, seriously wrong.
Run away far and fast... But see if you can find another dealer that you can trust in case you need warranty work done. You don't want to use those morons ever again.

Was it the rubber hoses that were pinched?

Yeah it was the rubber hoses that were pinched off.

I don't know how much work I will do on the bike myself, but having a manual is a good option. These idiots are 5 hours away, the next closest is 8 but they are trustworthy. If I feel comfortable doing stuff myself I will, and if not I will find someone local that can help.

Bottom line, I'm really happy to have my scoot running and back to normal!
