What is the best tuner for a 2012 Softail Deluxe? I want to get a set of V&H Duals and some kind of air cleaner most likely an arlen ness big sucker. The parts guy at my dealer is telling me to either get the dealer map or super tuner to go with the pipes and air cleaner i have chose. Need help please as i would rather not get the dealer map but he says if i dont and something fails my warranty wont cover it.
Might as well ask what the best color is. Everyone has their own preferences. Easiest - I used a Vance & Hines Fuelpak - was easy, inexpensive, I did the job. To a sert with dyno time. There are lots of options to choose from. If you're not going to do it yourself, use what the guy doing the tune is familiar with.
BTW - everyone knows that black is the best color!
They are inexpensive and will richen up the AFR to make a stock or Stage 1 run better and cooler.

I would avoid spending $ on a dealer map. If you are going to do more than a Stage 1, or if you want to squeeze every bit of potential out of your Stage 1, there are lots of more expensive ways to go. Powervision is one the best/most expensive options.
I like my Power Vision. It does not piggy back, just flash and disconnect. You can also save several maps in it. Your dealer is full of **** about the warranty issues also.
+1 to the powervision. I picked one up from FuelMoto in a package deal with a stage 1 A/C and am very happy. The tune they sent me has been spot on. They will pre-load the unit with tunes set up for your bike. Also, if you buy from them, they will send you tunes to use with the powervision to update your ECM if you change something down the road. Powercommander V from FuelMoto is also a less expensive alternative that is a great way to go too.
There's a saying we have between alpinists; "Buy nice or buy twice". I've been finding that it goes for motorcycle parts as well. Don't cheap out on something that has a profound impact on the performance of your ride.
