Ok, my latest headache... For a while now, while at idle or a hair above, I get a little chirp. I'm not overly worried about it, but thought I'd ask about it anyways. It's almost impossible to hear the exact spot that it's coming from. I had the dealer listen to it and even stumped him. It'll chirp, then not, then a few seconds later it'll do it again, just for a second, then nothing, then chirp... I can't hear it when I'm driving, but that's not to say it's not still there. Oh, and because I know you'll say it, I don't think it's the exhaust because I had the pipes off, baffles off, baffles changed, pipes back on and the sound didn't change a bit. Also, I tried holding and pushing on any part that I thought might be causing the noise, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Any ideas? The noise itself really doesn't bother me and I'm not stressing about it, just hate to not ask and get left stranded on the road.
Is the bike moving when it chirps or not? Mine chirped when I left the house in the morning every time I went down the curb. Once I adjusted my belt more carefully it stopped. Shoot the motor mounts with some WD. Might be them.
OK really..
are U bouncing around any,, My shocks makes a squeak when I settle in or the wife gets on.. Usually when that starts I spray the shock bushings with some white lithium grease and it stops it for months..
I have one too mine is very annoying and loud and most noticeable below 10 mph like just taking off first thing in the morning etc. Also jumping up and down on the bike will not create the chirp either.
My hearing is not that great anyway but it was getting to where I heard it with my helmet on running down the hiway even. So took it to the dealer last week Saturday and they put front wheel bearings in no help...
Last thing I tried was I took beer box cardboard (thin) and stuck it up inside the triple tree tin and taped it around the lowers to isolate the lower tubes from the tin and that didnt help either.
But I think mine is in the triple tree so if I get it figured out I will let ya know. I am also thinking I will check the motor mount bolts for tight fwtw.

Funny... But no, it shouldn't be the cams. I actually have an idea now because when I was washing the front end today I heard a similar squeak, so it must be coming from up there. I look into it more when I have time and post back.
