I am wondering also. My rubber cap has started to split. Does not show up in my parts manual...2003 FLSTCI.

I have to tell you, I have saved the receipt for the 5 cents that my dealership charged me for the rubber cap/stopper that I replaced two years ago. You are right, there is no part number which figured into the price charged. May I add it is the smallest amount of money I have spent at the HD dealer ever. I just turned 90400 miles and am very pleased with the 02 fatboy with all its small issues. Chris

Since no one else has chimed in I"ll simply say...I don't know for sure, but in the automotive field when I see that, it's a service port for doing a fuel injection service. Although not really a FI cleaning but more of an induction cleaning. They run a can of fuel injector cleaner through your tank. clean your throttle body, then run a can of cleaner via an I V drip through your intake and combustion chamber to clean out oil and carbon deposits throughout. Looks like your a good candidate for that.

* Again, don't know for sure. This coming from the automotive world.

Its for a CARB approved charcoal canister return line if it was to be sold or registered in CA. 49 state bikes get the rubber cap. Unfortunately it doesn't show up in the break down. http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....CTION-ASSEMBLY

I replaced the rubber cap on mine a few weeks ago. I was pondering trying to engineer a way to install something like a mini nitrous injection system into there when I do my engine build. I just did not get into the area enough to know if it would work.

You would have to engineer a fogger bar to properly distribute it and ditch the tube. Plenty of experts in the blown nitrose thread to tell you if its feasible.
