Just thought i would share a few pics...I bought my bike while i was in afghanistan. Got home in the winter and rode the bike around 600 miles before she threw a rod and busted a 2x4 hole in the crankcase. Due to being in college and my dad being a machinist for 35+ years. We tore her down, bored it .020 over, welded and mill'd the cases, the dechromed everything and powdercoated it wrinkle black. The biggest thing i am proud of is my dad machined out a set of solid 1 inch round copper pushrod tubes.
After over 4 months of work i got to ride it today for the first time, and man was it worth it. Glad to be riding again and even though i have a few more things to do to her....shes able to be ridin, and thats what i plan to do till it gets cold again.
Thinking about cutting a couple sets of these pushrod tubes in brass to sell also....
Thanks man and your welcome...Yeah my old man had an issue cutting copper just cause its so soft. Brass looks good and is easy to machine. Thinking if we sold them for around $150 they may sell. The only problem is you have to lift the head about an inch to install them.
Thanks man....i still have the black nacelle for the front and a small black fairing also. Gonna put the fairing on next week and try it out on the interstate. Been getting my *** whooped with no fairing.
yeah could make them two piece as well. Just personally i liked the solid pushrod tube. But for the masses a two piece design would probably be the ticket
