So I got cycle visions bag mounts, cycle vision filler panels and sinister industries extended hardbags, and the shop test fitted the bags. To me it seems like the bags are flared out quite a bit. With the filler panel there is a 1" gap between the bottom of the bag and the filler panel. looks strange to me.
does anyone running cycle vision mounts have pics of their setup directly from the rear so I can compare fitment. Im not sure if its the brackets or the bags thats causing the gap, or maybe even improper installation of the brackets.
Look at the front bracket where it mounts to the peg hole, i tried it on the outside like the instructions said you could to help with a wide seat and my bags were all out of shape. Put it on the inside of the frame rail and everything is great now, but i have no seat rail.
I would also double check and make sure you got the right bracket. As I understand it the cycle vision brackets have a brace that tucks up under the rear fender. If you got the cross bracket for a fat tire softail I would think that could push the bags out at the bottom as well. And plus one on the inside the frame for the front mount. Did that with my brackets so the passenger floorboards would still mount flush. Let us know what you find out. A pic would also help.

Damn, now that you mention it, When I went to look at the bike, that cross bracket that is supposed tuck in behind fender was sitting below it instead.
The problem is that I'm not doing the work myself, I had to go out of town for work, so I just let the shop thats gonna paint my bike handle it. Ill head out there on Monday and double check the part numbers, and take pics. Ill post them up here.
Thanks guys

have any of you managed to successfully mount HD bag guards with the cycle vision brackets and ext bags?
I've got the bag guards, but they don't seem to fit. I've a buddy that bought bag guards, not for a Softail, but he flipped them over and mounted them on his Deluxe. I need to get the part number from him.
Those look like the deluxe guards, which are shorter to make room for the original pipe over pipe exhaust. I was hoping to run the traditional bag guards, I actually bought a set of the Heritage springer ones, hoping to use them, but I guess not. Ill just return them.
