Change them. I'm One of those unfortunate ones who had them back out while riding. The dealership installed a chrome pulley cover and reused the bolts. Didn't know this when I bought the bike. I now have some crazy saw tooth lock washer (a machinest friend got them for me) that are designed not to back out or vibrate loose.

Ah, "chrome pulley cover". that makes a difference. Have read over the years several people whose had bolts come loose after installing a chrome pulley cover.
damn it !!!! i just re used all my bolts after taking the front and rear wheels apart for powder coat. now i'm all worried !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so where do you guys get these bolts? from HD? or from a specific site. I"m gonna replace mine, I can't possible imagine it's fun to be 80 miles from home on a ride and having one of these bolts back out on me.
I reused my pulley and both rotors bolts when I changed my tires myself about 400mi ago. NOW I'M WORRIED!

crap!!!!
alain,
rotor and belt pulley bolts from hd, then use gloss blak nail polish or rattlecan gloss blak to match yer powder, dont reuse mang.you are smart for replacing.
I wouldn't replace these with "grade 8" bolts. These are meant to stretch a certain amount when installed. This stretching was engineered into the system, to provide for a properly tightened pulley.
The reason you can't re-use them is because stretching them is plastic deformation, or cold working the material. Cold working the material will increase, it's hardness, and reduce it's ductility. Basically, the material becomes more brittle. re-torquing the bolts will continue to cold work them, increasing brittlness, and increasing the likelyhood that they break.
IMO total load of crap. If you install grade 8 bolts you will never have any problems...the set on my bike now has been on 4 different wheels.
On the other hand most people having problems with rotors coming loose...are useing factory Harley "torque to yield" bolts...if I had these on my bike, I would remove them and replace them with some good old fashion grade 8 bolts ...25 years with no problems

thanks mike. i have to go to the stealer tomorrow to get some parts for my clutch. i'm gonna get replacement bolts as well.
i hope i don't have to take the rear wheel off in order to replace these. that's gonna be a nightmare.
I was hoping there was a web site. i've tried buying replacement bolts at the local big name hardware stores around here (lowes and home depo) and it's a nightmare to get someone to help you in those places. not to mention someone who knows enough to point you in the right direction so you don't spend 2 hours in a hardware store looking for the right size bolts.
