Never seen 40 MPG on the Heritage but I'm a little heavy handed.

I can plan on getting 32mpg for my riding around West Texas, city, highway or idiot, doesn't mater...but let me go somewhere in the Hill Country, riding two up and loaded and I will get 40-42 and the bike will run cooler, as much as 15 degrees according to the oil dipstick therometer.

I've talked to the folks at Power Comander, and no one can quite tell me why...or how to change it.

Stage 1, V&H BigShots, PC-IIIusb, K&N SE filter...

Oh, and SHOTGUN SHOCK!

The best I have gotten was 40 and my average is around 35. It all depends on my right hand. I am running a SE Stage 1. I am hoping it'll increase a bit after I do my 10k service

40mpg on my 12 Heritage, it's mostly 50mph here between signals so lots of stop and go.

I usually get around 30 in town with an itchy throttle hand. I've gotten as little as 25 with a really heavy throttle. This past weekend I got about 45+ on state highways (60 MPH) with a passenger. I thought that was darn good. I'm running a V&H ProPipe, Screamin' Eagle Ventilator kit, and Xieds.

My 2002 gets about 40 - 45 depending on how I am riding. It is also a whole lot better than my pickup.

I avg. 36-39 mpg combined riding (mostly city) on my 2012 w/Stage 1, SE Pro Super Tuner, dyno tuned and Bassani slip ons w/2" baffles.

This is consistant to the avg. mpg I had on my '09 Street Bob...it would avg. right at 36 mpg mostly city riding.

IMO, it depends alot on the amount of traffic, sitting at red lights idling, etc in the area you live and your riding style.

I don't baby the bike when I ride...
