Thunder Beach is in a couple of weeks. I will check out the Ulitmate booth before I buy. I rode form Ft walton Beach to Talladega last Friday and came back Sunday. The stock seat wasn't bad. Each his own...
I think the stock seat was very good as well, I like having back support so I set off to get a new seat, had Mustang on my Road King Classic and it was very nice. Ordered one for the heritage and thought it was horrible and hard as a rock!
I researched for about a month or two and bought the Ultimate seat with back rest and am very happy with my purchase and comfort, cost a little more than Mustang but on the heritage I feel it's much more comfy...
We just got back from Daytona and looked at seats for my wife's Deluxe. She had a chance to sit on a corbin, a mustang, and an ultimate. Ultimate was her favorite - but with any of these seats you cannot really tell until you put some miles on them.
I have had (2) ultimate seats - one on our GL1800, the other on my current ride (Road Glide Custom).
She ordered the Ultimate solo and drivers backrest...........
Best thing to do is have someone rebuild your seat to fit you and yours. you can spend a boat full of money trying other seats. do it once and do it right you will be happy. and you wont have a garage full of seats.
i had mine custom fitted to my butt, and what a differance can ride for hours and feel very comfortable.all day long.
Great, you talk about custom fit, you talk about refitting, you talk about saving money, but you give NO names or addresses of persons, places or things that or where this can be done. Really
I had a mustang seat with rider backrest and hated it but it was on a sportster. I recently got a saddlemen classic tour (see attachment) but I have heard a lot of great things about the ultimate

I have a sundowner seat. I can not imagine a more comfortable seat. However it is too wide for my slim, looks bad and I do not use it. Bought a danny gray for 2 up and a corbin custom solo and pillion. I also have a customized slim standard seat with white stiching and gel pac that is very comfortable when going solo
I recently purchased an Ultimate seat for my Road King, and it is the most comfortable seat I have ever sat on. Unfortunately for me, more padding means higher ride height. It really depressed me to have to send it back, which by the way you can do if for any reason you are not happy with the seat! They were awesome to deal with and if I ever get an Ultra, I will get the Ultimate and lower the bike!
