I decided that I did not like the look of the stock tank panel, especially when I replaced the stock seat that it was designed to match. In its place, I purchased the Softail Slim tank panel, like a couple others mentioned here. It does, in fact, fit the Cross Bones perfectly, as you can see below. And I believe that it gives the tank a much better look; but, of course, that is only an opinion!
Hooah09, absolutely beautiful bike!
I agree the panel fits perfectly to my taste!
Could I ask what fender/seat is that?
The seat was made by Anvil Customs and the rear fender is sold by Shadetree Fabrications. If you are interested in a full parts list and more pics, you can go to this thread: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...o-harleys.html
I have a slim and similar to this one I have that leather strip from the console to the seat. Personally I don't like the leather. Just doesn't match my style. I don't see any other options except to swap out the whole console. Short of making something which I'm not skilled at currently. I have thougt about trying a late model wide glide dash in gloss black though. It's metal all the way down.
I know the speedo is a different size but no idea if it'll fit my tank.
I'm looking to purchase a Slim leather panel if your thinking of selling.
I like that slim panel as well. If ya dont mind me asking what did it set u back? I cant find it on the hd site.
The slim tank panel cost me $75.00 when ordered directly through my local dealer. And in case you need to know, the part number is 70900170 and the description on my bill says "TRIM STRIP, F'TANK".
