Default Crossbones Riser issue

I have read most if the threads here on this forum and the answer I am looking for isn't really there. I put 16 inch apes on my Bones with the already stripped and helicoiled risers that i wish I could throw in my recycle bin and be done with them. The bushing flex is horrible on these especially in a Texas head wind and I was looking for other options as to something that could replace the stock risers completley (black/chrome dont care) that didn't have bushings and would solidly mount to the top of the tree with no flex at all. Like trying to bend a man hole cover no flex... ;-) I tried the firmer bushings, that was $13 dollars straight to the "**** Me" fund and I know there has to be other options out there. Something that looks like the stock one somewhat. Hell, even a safe way to modify the stock ones rigid could also work. Any help would be appreciated.

I have had luck shortening the bushings or adding a washer to the shouldered bolts,
depending on what type you have. This puts more pressure on the bushings and helps.
Solid bushings are probably the only way to get rid of ALL the flex.

Kinda thinking if there isn't a riser that would completely replace the current ones or a one-off idea on this the maybe a mix of both ideas above could work. Hmmm...

Thats what I am running. Art alloy makes some good stuff... I was having the same issue with my apes... Also what I did was re_tap the risers to the next size up. And a dded some shim between the bars.. I made the shims out of tomatoe cans. Couldnt get the rite thickness out of aluminum

Drill and Re-tap the stock mounting holes top and bottom riser. Then, Drill the riser in the center down to the bar, Tap the riser. Screw a bolt into the riser and into the bar. BAM no more flex. Only cost are the bolts. No more "**** Me" fund.

I took them back off this afternoon after I got home from work and ended up doing kinda what Seehogs said, but with 4 counts of a federal offense involved! There was a quarter on my work bench and while I was sitting there I dropped the quarter into it just playing around while I thought and pondered how I was going about this being that if it went lower the studs would interfere with the handlebar mounting... and it happened to sit at the seat of the top bushing in the riser just about right. So, I took 4 of those, drilled a hole 1/2 inch through the center of all 4 and dropped 2 in the top of each riser, then the bushing, then I sat it all back down on the stud and I torqued her back down. It cost me $1 and it is solid as a rock. No flex. I suspect the bushings got real tight and the quarters had a hole drilled in them that was just big enough for the riser stud to go through to also limit movement alot as well. I appreciate it Ya'll.
