Default grips

i recently bought my bike, and the grips seem to be shot. They are chrome grips with the black material in the middle grooves. The problem is that it seems as if they have been exposed to extreme heat and the black material is sticky and coming off in some spots. Any advise??

Change the grips to something else. They sound like they are just worn out.

You definately need new grips.
Just go online and google motorcycle grips.
There's dozens of aftermarket retailers, or you can go right to the HD dealer parts counter.
I just bought Avons and really like them. ($55 on ebay)
You can put the new ones on yourself in less than a 1/2 hour.

I like the one's with sparkles in them. They seem to last the longest!

Changing grips is just like changing socks = easy stuff. Go to your local HD & pick out a new set then wrench away...
