Default late model headlights

I just bought a 1997 heritage and the headlights and passing lamps suck , I cant see s**t . I had a 2008 deluxe and the lights on it were great. Has anyone done a swap . I been wrenching for years so splicing ,soldering an heat shrinking new plugs would not be a problem. I am not gonna spend the money for LED,s as i dont ride at night much any more but early in the morn going to work it would be nice to be able to see. Thanks for any help

I changed my headlight on my '05 to a SilverStar bulb. My brother said he couldnt even tell I was behind him at night until I made the change. You can buy the bulbs at Oreillys, AutoZone, ect...

THanks Jory434, That is gonna be my first stop on my lunch break on the way home. Maybe with a good headlight bulb I might not have to mess with the passing lamps . But then again ,no such thing as to much light . Thanks again . Anyone else wanna chime in?

Just looked at my bike ,it's got the old sylvania 6024 sealed beam headlight so I cant use the new h-4 bulbs without changing the entire 7" reflector or lens , whatever you wanna call it .

You could get one of these so you can convert to the H-4 bulbs... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-x-H6024-60...2d39e4&vxp=mtr

I've used them in conjunction with hi-power H-4's to greatly improve night vision.

I have the hella conversion kit. They send a 55/65w bulb that sucks still. It's still not has bright as the stock light on the newer bikes. You will need to cut out the rubber boot cover on your bike a tiny bit to get the new bulb connection to fit. I did remove the deflector. That helped a little bit. I should just pony up the $$$ and get a better bulb.
