Can anyone give me an idea how to run wires under the fuel tank on a 1999 Heritage Classic. Doen"t want to remove the whole tank if I doen't have to.

99 has the split tanks. Remove the console and remove the tank bib. You can get beside the tank from there to run wiring.

On my 2004 I was able to run the electrical wire for my fairing under the tank by taping the end to a straightened wire coat hanger and passing it between the two front tank mounting tabs, then thru the plastic wire harness "tube" and out to the battery. I removed the rear bolt holding the tank down and tipped the tank up at the rear to give me better visibility and access. Also removed the horn from the left side to get better access. Probably a little different on yours but I thought the info might help.
