Default draggin frame on the softy?

Just wondering if any one has done an air susspension on there hog that you can actually lay the bike right out and drag fram with it. Iv seen some full custom bikes that lay out but im talking about fabing a softail to do it and if anyone knows how much fab work is involved?

I come from a lowrider back ground and have a 70 caddy that drags rails for my last project so thougt it may be something worth looking into

This was discussed a few months back, it can be done but I think the conclusion was that you would have to do some serious modification to the frame and swing arm to get it done, possibly even to the shock mount.

Anything can be done, its just how deep your pockets are.

Sounds like major surgery. From looking at some of the bikes on here with air it didnt look like it should be that much of a push to get it to go that extra inch?

I don't follow.. are you talking about parking the bike on the frame (like Paul Jr. from PJD does)? or are you talking about having the bike set so low that you drag the frame in the corners?

Nope lowrider type deal. Hit the switch on the free way and drag it with about 40' of sparks behind it my caddy does it. Just mount drag blocks on it that way its not draggin anyting important. Would set it apart on cruise night a wee bit i would think

I drag frame in tight corners... Not in a parking lot.

There is a guy out of California who makes an air ride suspension kit that will pretty much bottom out the frame. The kick stand has to be removed and is no longer used. I made a post about it about 1 year ago since I met the owner at a local event. May have even posted a photo. Most here just pushed Shotgun Shocks. Ironically, I already had Shotgun Shocks installed on my bike. Consequently, I don't ever recall getting any feedback from anyone who actually had installed the air suspension set up. I did not go this year to the event and the event happened one or two weeks ago. I seem to recall the company name was something like Hog Foot.

Edit: Attached is the photo...

The frame and swingarm contact each other as a bump stop. The shotgunshock doesnt bottom out and if frame and swing arm are modified , the shotgunshock will extend to lower bike as low as is mechanically allowed.

Is that like the new thing after flaming tailpipes went outta style? As nicely done as your bike is (especially that seat), you gotta be smarter than to do something that dumb...

As JD said from Shotgun Shock you would have to modify the frame and the swing arm.

Why not go with the stock Shotgun Shock set up and install a rub block on the bottom portion of the frame?

The SS setup does go pretty low.

I would worry about lowering it to far and raising the rear wheel off the ground and lose control of the bike.
