I was wondering about the reason on why VH did not want this pipe installed on Heritage bikes. After calling them, they just said it was a clearance issue for the saddle bags.
So after taking a leap of faith, I purchased it and installed it on my wife's 2010 model. I took a couple of pics to show anyone else what it looks like. As you can see the clearance is very good, but for safety I installed the heat shield on the bottom of the bag.
The sound and look is just what my wife was looking for, very happy.
Mine fits no problem, not sure why they say it doesn't. Before I added the Butts Bagger system to hold my bags up, the stock pipe was touching my bag! The 2 into 1 has more clearance.
As you can tell the pipe is too short for bags. Here is my wife's FLSTN with the long D&D FATCAT muffler. Look where it ends compared to yours. I'm gonna say on long rides you might have some trouble with the bag heating up...Just saying..My FATBOY has the short muffler as you can see. I wish i had the long muffler it has a nice deep sound.

Hi, I'm a new member. Interested in the discussion and some info on the 2 into 1 pro pipe on the Heritage. I had the same questions about what V & H said. Looks like there should be good clearance and want to do the same. Particularly the discussion with 'Ranfrol' (if you're still out there) or anyone else wanting to join in:
- when you installed, any issues with fit, ie., mounting brackets, etc?
- what did you use as a heat shield (assuming you'd need it) - just some foil from an auto dealer or is there something specific you can buy?
It's a liability problem. The hot exhaust gasses are exiting directly under the leather bags and could potentially cause damage or fire. That's what I was told when I asked V&H about it. I wasn't crazy enough about the pro pipe to try it..
