Default Aux lighting

I have a new springer softail classis with aux lighting halogen bulbs. They blow out under 200 miles all the time. Anyone else having the same problem?

There's been a lot of talk about these lights blowing out.I believe that the halogens may be the problem between heat and viabration, maybe a heavy duty bulb like what they use in the other lights might help.

This probably goes without saying, but make sure you don't touch the bulb directly when you install it. I've been told that the oil from your skin can cause early failure in halogens. If your kit uses H3 bulbs, you can get them at the auto parts house cheaper than at the Harley place.

I forgot to mention these are sealed beam the bulbs are not replaceable unless you rip off the rubber molding on the back of the bulb. These are harley sealed beams

I am pretty sure you can take a thin screwdriver and loosen the rubber boot to access the bulb. There should be a spring clip that holds the bulb in place. Undo the clip and the bulb should pop right out. If you have one of the old ones, you can experiment with it.
