Hi to all. Getting my seat re-worked is 1 of my mod's on this winter's list. So I would like to hear from those who have already taken this leap, what you had done to it, the material used, if anyone had gel insert's put in, how well you like it and if it was worth it to you and the cost if no one minds answering that last question. If you are uncomfortable putting what you had paid to get it done in this public atmosphere you can send me a private message if you are more comfortable doing it that way. Your secret's are safe with me. I am not interested in those how went out and bought after market seats, I have seen so many guy's on here that have gone out and bought 1, 2, 3 seats before they found what they liked and I want to try and avoid that. The guy that will be doing my seat will let me stand there while he work's it so I can add or take from it as it is being made. I am only interested in those who had them re-worked. The reason is that I want to get some kind of black and white leather patter on my bike to match my paint job. I also think black and white would also go with just about any paint job as well and that may be on my next, 2013-14, winter mods list. I also want to take a little off of the seat for a lower profile and to get a gel insert where my tail bone sits. I'm getting old I guess, sore and paying for all the dumb chit I did when I was a kid. PICTURES WOULD BE GREAT TOO if you have them. Thanks in advance for your time in answering my questions should anyone decide to do so.
I had a seat made for my deuce that I had, all custom pan, sting ray inlays with gold leaf paint covering the sting ray. seat was fantastic, comfortable, and truly one of a kind, came at a price though, 2 grand. bitchin seats in Anehiem. very well made. these are things that set your bike apart from the crowd, when it comes to bike shows, testosterone checks in the parking lot, what ever!! If you got the cash and want the uniqueness go for it

I will post some when I get home, pics on that computer. sting ray pelt alone runs around 6-7 hundred depending on size and quality. leather and memory foam around 300.00 making the fiberglass pan custom to the bike and all the labor shaping, upholstery, and its 2 grand. thats not an outrageous price for a one off, rare hide, seat. I've seen some alligator ones going around 3k. these are very custom seats, not like the ones from mustang/ saddlemans kinda stuff. When you see a real high end custom bike, 9 out of 10 times they have a very expensive seat like that. I'll post up the pics tonight
To each their own but 2k is out of the ball park for me. I am not cheap and I do not mind spending money on my bike. If you read all that has been done to my bike I think that will reflect that to be true. I also agree though that a seat can be the final touch to a very nice bike though. I think that is true, a nice custom seat can set 1 bike apart from all the other bikes. I would really still like to see pictures of your seat though when you get home and able to send them. It may still give me some idea's. If it does come down to have to spend that kind of money to get what I want then so be it but I am going to look long and hard to try get what I want for a few less buck's then 2k though. Thanks you your time and reply though, any kind of information and pictures are very helpful.
LOL, be careful what you wish for. HC1992, please post can't wait to see them, good for you. Looking at a C&C close solo seat here, still researching gel. Subscribed.
heres some picsthey don't do a lot of justice, you can'r see some of the detail of how the seat hugs the rails of the frame and is actually cut out around the fender strut and how close the fit is to the back fender. it is a really nice seat. the gold is inlaid sting ray hide, with gold leaf paint on it to match the gold leaf on the paint work

That seat definitely fits your bike. Like the way it flows with your bike and the color combo. Looks real good. If you can afford it, and want it, then by all means go for it.

the seat was one of the last things done, it wasn't a matter of affording it or not, it was the finishing touch, that really was necessary to make the bike really stand out. to be honest, I was so over budget on this thing, that affording it was kind of a joke. I was committed, it got done, besides the blood that I sold resupplied itself in a few weeks!!!
