Sorry Motown, I have been living at work and I have not had a chance to get online at home yet. I can access the internet from work but stuff like ebay are blocked at work so I have not been able to access the links you sent me. I have 1 single day off out of the next 20 so if I get time I will look when I am at home on that day off. As for the white floor boards, it may end up being a bit to much but I am game to try if I can find them. If I don't like them it sure won't be the 1st thing I bought for my bike that ends up sitting on a shelf out in the garage or hanging on an obscure nail on the garage wall too. God knows I have plenty of that crap out there. As for MikeZ and his comments? 1, I am not one to make tough guy comments or smart mouth comments on here to someone. That's pretty cowardly IMHO. I am also not one to come on here and judge anyone for anything they want to do to thier bike. I have seen guys ask about somthing or say they are going to try something and I think to myself, No way! Then I see it once they have done it and it comes out looking pretty damn sweet! The Mona Lisa was not done in a day!!! Leonardo Da Vinci started the painting in 1503 and had still not finished when he moved to France in 1516, where he finally completed it. It is also believed to have at least 2 or 3 paintings under the original, before he got it right. Take that for what it's worth and how I view my bike and how I like to do things. I don't just ride my bike and I am not just a biker. It's a passion and it's never done, my bike is somewhat of a beast and somewhat a beauty!
They do get dirty quick, especially if you wear gloves (which I rarely do) but my Deluxe has white wall tires which need to be cleaned often. So when I hit my tires with Westley's Bleach White I just hit the grips also, DONE! Really easy with that cleaner just spray on and wipe with rag/towel and spray off.
Thanks for the info. Wesley's Bleche White is my solvent of choice on the whitewalls also. Didn't cross my mind to use it on the grips as well. Great idea. I think I'll give the nostalgic white grips a go. Worse comes to worst I can always put my current grips back on.
Also don't forget the good ol S.O.S pads too. I have seen them do wonder's on stuff like white rubber. I use them on my WWW's when they get bad, not sure how or if they would scuff hand grips but I would give it a go if all else failed.
