Default Part number for Deluxe Tail light base?

So I went to do the softbrake license plate relocation this evening, only to find that when I took off the brake light housing that the grey plastic base is all busted up and basically fell apart when I got the first bolt off that was holding it onto the fender. So now I have a bike with no tail light assembly or plate mounted onto it until I can get another one. Does anyone have a parts diagram that they can tell me what the part number is so I can look into getting another one without having to drive down to the dealership just to order one. Past attempts to describe parts to them over the phone to get parts identified and ordered have been a disaster, and I'd rather not go through that again.

Thanks in advance.

Dealership will only sell you the entire part.

And making matters increasingly shitty, Canadian dealerships are charging $165 for the same f'ing part. Looks like I'm gonna be ordering from a US dealership again.

It's been a common issue on the evo Heritage Springer models too... Lots of guys have gone through a few of them... I've been fortunate.. Haven't cracked one yet.

Just ordered the part from the dealer across the border from me, still $138 after tax for a new assembly, backing plate and pin connector (new assembly apparently doesn't come with a pin connector, and I figured for $6 the rubber backing plate that goes inside the fender was probably worth replacing too).

You'd think that if this had been known to be a common failure issue with the previous bikes they'd have at least made the part that breaks available as it's own part instead of making you buy the entire set up. Asking them to find a way to make it that it doesn't routinely ask is probably too much to ask for the MoCo, I suppose.

While I think of it, is there an easier way to get that whole assembly off that doesn't involve taking off the rear wheel? With every bike I've ever had previous to this the tail light assembly hardware was all accessibly from the outside, and getting my hands up between the fender and the tire to get at a couple of 7/16 nuts is kind of a pain in the ***.

I never in a million years would have thought I'd need to jack up my bike in order to replace a tail light, but the more I look at it the more I think this is the way it's been designed.

Only way to get at it is from underneath. I've been able to get to it without a jack.. But a jack will make life easier.
