I hate those smooth running B-Motors.
No jiggling in the frame @ idle !!!!

Ba ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

Slight buzz @ certain hwy speeds.
But overall pretty good. Rubber mounts are
smoother @ higher speeds.

I really want to ride a Heritage (or other FL Softail)
w/the shotgun air-ride. The susp is the problem w/my
Heritage.
Could be geared a tad taller for freeway speeds.

I've always found the dynas to be a lot smoother ride than the b motor. Accept for at idle that is and then the dyna motors want to jump out of the frame.

Do what I did, my other bike is a 72 Ironhead. After a ride I have to tighten all the bolts.

How about you sell it, and buy an evo and put some folding money in your pocket.

I had a 1961 Notron Atlas...A ten mile ride would loosen my teeth fillings.

When my buddy had a Softail and I had a Dyna, his wife rode with me one time when we were all coming back from a day trip and when we stopped, she looked at me and said "Wow, does that thing vibrate. I love it. I'm so horny right now!" She dragged her hubby into the house and took care of business with him!

There was a couple private messages on this, so in all serious and at the risk of a public flogging from what I have read the removal of this has been done. Do a search. That is were my picture came from. Just my opinion. To get to this item, the engine needs to removed and torn down and the crankcase totally split. Big job requiring lot of experience and special tools. Even the oil system would have to be modified to block off it since on a Softail the cam plate has a special area just for the hydraulic tensioner and a extra screen for it internally, Then if you had a FI bike idle would be a real issue with all this spinning mass gone. Totally beyond the engineering scope of 99% of most people. Not sure if you can index it and experiment with it just by taking it down past removing oil pump.
The Softail rear drive is a good system. Never been fond of how the Dyna and big cruisers are set up with the rear swing arm hanging off end of transmission and the engine soft mounted in rubber. But it all works and at speed is smoother then a Softail.
If it were me and I was determined to have it shake, I would get a shaky one and sell the Softail. I personally like a little vibration but I like it in the bedroom were it belongs. And that's about that.
