Glad you made it out fairly ok. I bet your bike will be fixed before your healed up huh? Lol. I laid mine down this summer & it gave me tons if ideas to mod since it was apart. Good luck with the bike & getting better.
Someone was selling an FL front end of a Deluxe in the Softail parts listings not that long ago, it's probably still available.
As someone who also dumped on loose gravel a few months back, I definitely feel your pain. I think I would have preferred the busted arm and chipped tooth to the broken rib and cut to hell mouth/lips though, but we play the hand we're dealt.
Hope your insurance is as good to deal with as mine was. I've had my adjustors calling me to tell me that there is other stuff I should be claiming for that I never would have thought of, and as far as the bike goes, once they determined that it wasn't worth fixing I had a pretty decent check in the mail the same day.
Definitely post before/after/repaired pics, I'm interested to see the direction you take it with the FL front end.
Yeah go to find out if I need surgery Wednesday. I'm sure the bike will be up before I'm able to ride. I at least it's about to get a little cold. Haha ill post plenty of pics when I decide which way to go
Sorry for the luck, but on a good note its always fun to be alive, and ordering parts is a great thing to do on boxing day,,,Merry xmas, hope you back on two wheels sooner rather then later

Hahaha, I think Boxing Day's a bigger deal up here in Canada than it is in the US. Here it's basically the equivalent of Black Friday - but the prices aren't quite as low, and it's actually been stretched out for the whole week in most places.
God forbid and knock on wood in nearly 40 years of riding I have never been down. I have been so F*#@ed up back in the day I have fallen over at red lights and stop signs but never crashed. As big of a bummer as this might be Dude you here and able to tell your story. There are many out there who have gone out for a ride and never came back, May they all rest in peace!
