Man I'm just seeing this tread today. Sorry about the sh**ty paint job dude, be weiry of the really good deals, sometimes they are too good to be true. Glad to see you're ditching the stock rear fender. What HD was thinking I'm not sure, it does not fit the feel of this bike. Can't wait to see the finished product.
I have a few more mods for my bike as well, after a 1 year + hiatus.

It's all good. I am going to give old dude a shot to fix it. If he won't I ain't giving him a dime. I have another guy lined up. He said he will end up sand blasting the tins. That sucks because I will be starting from scratch on the body work. Also it's going to mean another few weeks

Seems like the average paint shop, even a reputable one has trouble spraying denim. I had a similar problem when I got my tank and front fender done. There were dirt particles here and there. These painters tend to buff those imperfections out of shinny paints but are usually stumped when dealing with the flat stuff cus buffing it makes it go shiny.

In my case I didn't have to pay for the work which I was fine with. I learned to live with the little imperfections which showed way less when the tins were back on.

Painted professionally for 8 years...most paint shops cannot do perfect denim paint jobs. Regular paint is easy...wet sand...buff...all imperfections are gone.

yeah, if it would have been little stuff, I would have been ok. It was the hair in the fender. It jumps out. I also found out that he pointed all the stuff out to one of the guys when he dropped it off. He picked up the tins yesterday and is supposed to re shoot the clear today....

OK, so the paint guy fixed it. I actually like it better now. He sanded it with 3000 grit. It is now kind of a semi-gloss metallic black. I finally got it back together. I had a bought with pneumonia for 5 days in the hospital, then our techs were swamped at the shop. Bad weather today meant they were slow, so we got it back together, wired, gassed, and fired up.
