I've got engine lights on my newly bought Softail Deluxe which have a push button control devise like a car would have to lock and unlock the doors. Gremlins are turning on my engine lights at different times during the day and at night. My push button control is no where near the bike and is not being touched. Last night I even took it apart and removed the battery and this morning my engine lights were on brighter that ever. I then had to put the control back together to turn the lights off. It's Gremlins...Right?
What could it be and how do I fix it? Thanks for any ideas.
I had this problem with my remote start. My truck would start randomly, flash lights and the windsheild wipers would turn on for no reason. I just took the remote start out and it never happened again. Doubt this helps but I feel your pain.
I hade weird issues with my FLSTC, not exactly what your describing, but it was a host of lights doin this and that when I'd try to start it or shortly after I did and was riding.
Turned out to be a bad BCM, they replaced it and all is good.
Thanks guys for the comments, I guess I'll just disconect the lights from the battery until I take the bike in for the 10k mile service which is due now.
It's the receiver on the bike, it's receiving a signal for somewhere ,or the's short in it. If you can change the frequency, try that. If not, try a replacement receiver. Obviously it's not the transmitter, as you removed the batteries and it still did it.
Then get a Gremlin bell.
Or take them off, personally I think thy're tacky, unless your riding a Honda.
