On trips I use HF's Contractors bags that are 3 mil (almost 4 times heavier) than standard trash bags. Then cut them to height I want and install in my bags, mostly for an extra protection layer to keep items dry in case of rain. They work great.
Havent really looked for what Ur talking about but the way the bags are made if the inserts were made to fit them, then if they were full and packed U wouldn't be able to just lift them out.
For every day riding U don't really need anything, The insides of the leather bags hasn't faded off or caused any issues by coming in touch with the wife clothing we keep in them..
I do have a smaller towel folded over to fit the bottoms, its mostly to keep noise down.
I really like the smooth look of how firm the leather looks with them. Some folks like that 'nostalgic' look with the leather just collapsing on it self, but I don't. Plus I haven't noticed any problems with space or function.
So all in all, I give them an A.
Would of said A+ but they were kinda pricey.
I had the Harley bag liners for the Heritage bags, they are rubbish! They are not a good fit, they are smaller than the bags, so a waiste of time. I now use, dry bags and just stuff the kit in.
I have fitted the Harley kit to stiffen the bags, and also fitted their lock kit, which matches your bike keys. It works really well, and just has a frame which bolts around the top of the bag and some hard plastic for the lid of the bag.
