Default Chromed out or blacked out?

This question or preference has popped up in several other threads and now I would like to see if this is true. I know you can go either way, or like this with that but as a whole and with your age what do you prefer or have. I notice the younger crowd of bikers like blacked out or their bike is stock and the older guys, like myself, seem to go chromed out or have stock. In picking one or what you have does NOT mean you don't like the other either. It's just what you have, what you like or what you prefer. You will see my preference below but that does NOT mean I don't like blacked out. I have seen a few blacked out bikes here I would LOVE to have sitting in my garage and thats a big change for me from a few years ago.
I'm 55, been riding since the early 70's and I have or prefer Chrome.

I'm 65 my last bike which I had for years was chrome, an FXR my present ride is a Nightrain so I like both, not keen on the totally blacked out that some guys on here go for though.

I'm 45. As you can see mine is all flat blacked out (well almost but it will be). My next one (or the next version of this one) will be gloss black and chrome.

I'm 44 and have a blacked out bike. I took mine in that direction to copy the blacked out sports cars I like; Porsche, MB, etc... Where my bike is predominately blacked out, I use chrome in trim pieces for contrast. There are a ton of cool chromed out bikes on this site, Tbones is one of them. I just prefer the "raw" look and hopefully my bike expresses that.

Nice thread idea Tbone.

I'm 34 and chrome. Blacked out is just too boring for me. I like it just on your bike

I'm 39 and I have NEVER liked shiny or showy finishes on any kind of vehicle. I think chrome is nice and as an accent can be a great part of a motorcycle's scheme. However, I really get turned off by scoots showered in chrome and with shiny paint jobs. I honestly can't tell you why I don't like them. Or maybe it's just that I prefer the understated look of black. Hell! Even when it comes to black, I prefer satin to gloss! I guess for me, it comes down to my personality. When I think about it; being drawn to more understated styles and ideas is true for a lot of things.

Im in my early 30's and have a fatboy lo that im blacking out, but thats cuz I think that particular bike has that look going for it from the factory, sort of like the night train. I do love a nice chromed deluxe as well, however around here (SoCal) you see them everywhere.

Here's mine, and I am not even done, I am going to be ordering black fat spokes for it and doing a klock werks wrapper front fender, with a heartland kit with a air suspension in the rear.

I'm 31 and I bought my bike when I was 24. I didn't go too heavy with chrome or black, I've got both. I think it looks good with the red paint.

My train is blacked out, but my shovelhead is pretty bling bling. It all depends in the bike. 6 years ago not that many bikes were murked out, so it was diffrent, now black is the new chrome. Oh ya 35 now. Not as old as Branner thank god.
