Hi to all, I just got a 2008 Rocker C last week and I would like to change the break Pedal pad and shifter. I have the Kuryakyn Flamin’ Switchblade Pegs Male Mount on it now, but would like the break and the shifter pegs to match, do you have or know of something that will have the same flame pattern? The sales guy at the HD dealer suggested the FLAME BRAKE PEDAL PAD, HD Item #42554-03 and shifter Item # 34617-03 FLAME SHIFTER PEG KIT.
He said I need to cut the rubber pad that I have now on the break side and if needed drill a hole to hold the break pedal with the screw that comes with the kit, but I don't want to drill a hole, do you know if the chrome pedal has a hole under the rubber pad?
Congrats on the Rocker. I'd check the Kuryakyn catalog or eBay to see if they offer matching pieces. As far as the stock brake pad goes, I'd bet good money that yours has the correct hole under the stock rubber piece.....every other softail I've ever seen has it.
The guy who owned my Train before me put the kuryakyn Flaming Pegs, shifter peg, and HD flaming brake pad on it. I'm looking to get rid of them, since I'm not a fan of all the flame stuff he put on, and I recently purchased the HD Black Diamond collection pegs, shifter peg, and brake pad.
But to answer your questions; the HD flaming brake pad does match the Kuryakyn flaming stuff pretty well. The rubber doesn't stick up away from the chrome metal as the kuryakyn stuff, but still looks good. And you don't have to cut the rubber stock brake pad off (probably just need to get something in there and pry the glue away), and there is a slot drilled into the brake arm to put a bolt through. If I had access to my bike sooner, I'd offer to sell you my shifter and brake pad (heck, even the flaming pegs if you wanted something to match for the passenger pegs), but I won't be getting at the bike until the snow goes away. And it's currently located an hour outside of the city I live in, stuck right in the middle of boats, tractors and all the other toys one could imagine.
