Dealer says I can't get electronic cruise control on my Heritage Softtail Classic to be delivered in Feb. Found one on the internet from an Australian company called Bradcron. Thing's a bit pricey at $600 which includes shipping. Anybody had any dealings with Bradcron.
Hey tyler, I guess my first question would why would you want it. I know everone is differnt but to tell you the truth I don't trust the damn thing's on a motorcycle,I've heard bad story's about a aftermarket cruise control that didn't end good. Not trying to be a skeptic but think it over before using after market cruise.
Are you worried about the company or their product or both?
I had a look at their website and they and their product seems okay on first impression, not that I would know.
All I can say is there is a strong Harley culture in Aus and I am not sure if you are concerned about any aftermarket product in general or this one because its from Aus?
If you have any technical concerns I would email their tech person at: larry@bradcroncruise.com.
Not sure if this helps as I dont know what your concern here is - apart from price....[&o]
Not concerned about product brcause it is Australian, my concern is, as with any atftermarket product, I wish to hear from someone who has dealt with them.
I installed a Bradcron cruise on my 04 Heritage when it was 2 weeks old. I started Saturday morning and had it finished later that night. It still works great. I need it because of carpal tunnel issues. After 20-30 minutes sometimes my hands lock up on the throttle and I have to peel my fingers off of it one at a time. This way when my hand starts aching I set the cruise, then hang my hand down and get the blood back in it. A 5 minute break does wonders for me then I kick the cruise off and grab the throttle again. The Bradcron has a clutch switch that electronically kills the cruise if you reach for the clutch, and it also ties into the brake light circuit. IMHO its much safer than the tension screw people over adjust, and the throttle locks available.
Hubby uses a Kuryakan throttle lock that disengages when you pull the brake lever. He seems to like it and its way less $$.
Right now I use a throttle rocker but haven't done over 350 miles in day. The throttle rocker lets you relax your hand, but it's not much use when you have an itch on that side
I'll be interested to see how your cruise control works out.
