I installed the V&H Big Shots Staggereds on my '07 Heritage. The hardest part was unplugging the O2 sensor connector under the oil tank. Everything else was a breeze.

Thanks for all the replies. Another question. Does anyone have any dealings with the V&H fuelpak? Just reading the website it sounds like you just plug the pack into the ecu and program it based on their programming schedule and thats it. Or are there more mods required?

Just wanted to add this to the info already given. I didn't have much trouble installing my V&H BS Longs except while positioning the front header, the flange scratched the frame. I think if you have someone help you support the exhaust pipes you should have an easier time positioning the headers. Maybe some masking tape on the frame to protect it might help. Good luck.

Just a couple of points from my V/H big radius install:
1. Take your time adjusting the heat shields for best fit/look
2. Make sure you carefully and thoroughly clean the heat shields before you fire it up - any fingerprints, however slight, will be permanently branded into the chrome
3. Be careful about lean running condition, particularly at prolonged cruise, or you will burn a rear piston. Little did I know that V/H are notorius for flowing a lot of air!

My first attempt at SERT map showed 14.5 AFR on Dyno! I got a map from Mike at Team Latus which seems OK, however I am still running rear cylinder head temp near 350 degrees F. The problem is 02 sensors are narrow band - only designed to keep AFR between 14.1 - 14.9 I am trying to learn about adjusting bias voltage to "fool" ECM down into lower part of this range at cruise. At WOT AFR is OK with good SERT map as ECM is open loop, only lean in closed loop in cruise range.

Fuel pak has Supar Sekrat Kode in it. V&H wont tell you how to fix your decel pops.
Since they are so tight with the info, it makes the device real hit-or-miss.

For the longs, I balanced it on my left foot while sitting on the ground and the bike on the side-stand.

I installed the V&H Shortshot Staggerds on my 07 Softail Custom, really a piece of cake. Iremoved the old pipes while waiting on the UPS guy. My tracking number showed them out for delivery so I got a jump start! Once the arrived everything went very well. Front header was a little close on the mustache bar (previously installed) but I managed to keep from rubbing them together. Just used the wiggle/jiggle method. Just remember to plug the O2 bungs or install the O2 sensors before mounting the pipes (duh). I had to remove them to install them after the pipes were already hung!!
I also installed the Power Commander (with O2 eliminator) and a Kuryakyn Hypercharger. The Hypercharger just looks so badass to me. No significant gains, but it already hadsuitable performance for me! The PCIII came premapped (from fuelmoto) & I have NO no decelleration backfiring, only a sweet rumble. The short shots are pretty loud (but not obnoxiously so) They have a deeper rumble than I anticipated, I figured they would have a more crackle type pitch, but much to my satisfaction they are quite mellow. Over all VERY happy with the setup. Spark plugs look good upon inspection as well.

Nope, that's it! Just follow the codes & instructions for the fuel pak - no problems!

Also - I picked up some cheap jersey workgloves from the hardware store to wear while handling the new pipes - keeps them clean & fingerprint free.

You should not install pipes without a plan for either a fuel pak or tuner. I would suggest the tuner. I went with a download, whic was not enough to compensate for the LongShots. Basically I threw away money, because I had to get the tuner and replace the mufflers due to bluing.

Roger that! I don't think some people realize how much more air flow you have with V/H pipes and any performance A/C. This can be very hazardous to pistons. Eliminating the O2 sensors is not the best answer IMHO. No way to get smooth mid-band performance from the ECM. Its pretty easy to map out decel popping with SERT. I believe there is enough latitude in theO2 bias voltage to keep cruise AFR around 14.1 (drops to 13.5 with roll on). This should keep piston/head temps tolerable and provide better cruise mileage.
