Default lowering front end question??

Whats up guys, I am getting ready to lower my front end.. bought new dna wheels, and I am getting chrome lowers and 2 inch under tubes...I also need to get a 2 inch lowering kit, which one should I get, the progressive or the burly one?Are they about the same, or are they different...2007 softail custom...

I went with the progressive full kit (non drop in) with a set of Ricor Intiminators. No complaints here. Not sure how it compares to the burly kit, but progressive seems to be the brand of choice around here.

Lots of these threads popping up in the last couple weeks!

I went with the 2" under tubes and the progressive drop in kit. Also not sure about the Burley brand stuff. Here's a pic so you can see the amount of drop I got from stock

I did progressive drop in kit, and bolts in the rear. About a 1.5" drop, not sure what the under tubes are though.

The stock fork tubes are 24 1/4" long so the 2" under tubes are only 22 1/4" long. This allows you to go lower with a spring kit without bottoming out.

The progressive kit only gets you 2" of drop max, per their instructions. Combining the shorter tubes and the drop in kit I got my front about 3.5" lower than stock

I had the springs pulled and I went with the progressive monotubes. It's a very tight and responsive front end, best I ever been on in all my days of riding. Matched with the Shotgun it's the best riding bike I have ever been on. Worth every single penny front and back.

Johnson, they both have different triple trees than stock on their bikes as well which makes a big difference. Different rakes on them, so they have a greater distance between the upper and lower tree, thus putting the lower tree closer to the fork sliders. That's the difference you're seeing. Look at mine and then their trees again. Their trees are at least an inch or so further apart than stock, plus a lot thicker than the stock trees. Also look at jreichart's sig pic above in this thread. He has the Pro-One trees. Same deal there. They are spread further apart.

Also, they both are completely slammed in the rear with the shotgun air ride system in all their pics (showoff's haha)

Not sure how much lower you want to go. With my stock trees, the 2" under tubes, the drop in kit with the spacer cut to 2.25", my bottom frame rails are a little less than 4" off the ground.
