Had the H-D SE 6-speed gear set installed several years ago in
my '03 Night train and love it. Gone on several 4,000 mile plus trips and makes those 75-80 mph sections very smooth.

If one wants lower highway rpms, isn't it a lot cheaper to just change pulleys?
Would make sense if you want to change the gear ratios for all 5 gears
I guess it wouldn't matter to me if the final drive ratio changed for all gears. Changing pulleys to give a 1000 rpm drop at 70, would only drop about 300 rpm at 20 mph in first. At 23 mph, you've got your rpms back.
Rear wheel torque in first would be down a bit, but it enables you to stay in first longer, before the wheel torque drop that comes with shifting to second.
no problems out of the rev tech gear set in the train with 60k plus on it now. I run a 100/100 motor hard to say the least. It shifts smoother than the HD tranny ever did. Christ look at all the posts on here and any other Harley forum and look at the motor company's record with 6 speeds.Rev Tech made some **** a dozen years ago but have vastly improved. I can introduce you to a couple of guys I ride with that will dog cuss Bakers for coming apart on them and not getting warranty help.**** happens right? A lot of problems come from installation that always seem to go to the manufacturer but you don't often hear I screwed up out of a tech or friends mouth that did it.
