I swapped the cams on my 03 Carb'ed Train with the SE 203's. Gained a small amount of performance at low RPM's, and a moderate amount in the Mid and Upper range. The upgrade was an improvement but in hindsight I think the Andrews 21's would have been a better choice.
Upgrading the cams give it a better idle sound too, doesn't it? At least on a carb bike.
I'm sure I've seen some Youtube videos and when the bike has had a cam upgrade, it just has that nice potato idle that I like.

Absolutely! Different cams will give different idle characteristics as well as different performance characteristics. Having said that, I should add that choosing a cam just for its idle is the wrong reason to choose one. However, if you've got a carb'd 88" motor, the Andrews 44s give great performance (as long as compression is slightly bumped over stock - my Heritage measured somewhere around 175 to 180 CCP after the cam change IIRC), and a wicked idle. That is, if you can find the Andrews 44s anymore.... For some reason, they didn't sell very well. That may have been because they only seem happy in carb'd 88s. How many performance-oriented people are satisfied with an 88" motor? I'm very happy with mine, I'll say that.... It'll walk away from a stock 103" without trouble.
