Hey guys. I am in the market for a backrest for my wife for the Deuce. I would like something thats detachable if possible. I have been looking but I have not found anything really that will work on the deuce. Anyone have one or know where I can look? I have checked JP and even a good old google search. I am going to assume I will need to relocate my rear turns and a new seat would be in order. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
Your turns stay there. The deuce takea a special backrest mount that bolts to the fender with a bracket. Should be 3 plugs in ur rear fender that u remove bolt a plate to. Then bolt the backrest to. Easily removable, pop seat off and 3 nuts.
Big thing is, they make 2 mounts a tall and a short. The short one uses a small pad and does not clear the sundowner seat or probably any seat with a taller passenger pad.
I run the tall bracket and the taller/narrow pad. They make a tall and wide pad as well. Check out hd website under parts.
To the back of the mount I made a plate , 7x9 I think roughly. used the bolts for the pad attachment to bolt it on. Then hard mounted a sissy bar bag to it. Believe if was a saddleman crusie n deluxe sissy bar bag...
But that's about ur option for a sissy bar. I know someone has made custom setup with the uprights off the struts
Also check ebay.... the setup thru hd will run about 180 $.... I bought the short one first and wasnt happy. So bought the tall one half price off ebay. And sold the shorty
