I have the Battery Tender Plus that charges and maintains the charge. Its on the bike whenever the bike is in the garage. Still running the original battery from 08.

I want to know where JackGib46 got the 750 amp charger! ;-)
750 milliamps, probably. 750 amps would smoke the battery in a heartbeat.

My battery tender is on all the time.

I've read lots of reviews by people who leave the cheap $12 Harbor Freight automatic float chargers hooked up to motorcycles and other recreational vehicles all winter, and have done it for years without any problems. Is there really any major downside to these, besides being nothing to brag about, and being made in China? (I realize they will slowly discharge the battery if they are disconnected from the power source, and not disconnected from the battery)

If my bike is at home it's plugged in to the tender. Never had a problem and the battery is over 5 yrs old now.
