What is the part# on the tuner? Can you post a pic? Your dealer should be able to hook you up with a cable kit and the software CD. You will need to load a new map with the cam change you're working on.
To answer your question, Yes the SERT is compatible with 09's. The Screamin Eagle Race Tuner, by design, can only be used on 1 bike. Once it's plugged into a bike it is forever mated to that bike's ECM. A new SERT when purchased from Harley has a security seal on the box which indicates that it has never been used.
If you purchased a used bike, and the seller included a SERT which was removed from the original packaging, it's a safe bet that your bike has been re-mapped. A disadvantage of the SERT is that the Original Base Map cannot be saved and only re-installed by a dealership. Harley Marketing which only is interested in the bottom line, does not sell the SERT as a ready to use kit. Each component such as cables and software must be purchased separately.
The SERT can tune and re-program many parameters of the ECM but to get the full benefits of it a Dyno is necessary. Not the best device for a DIY job.
Thanks man. Lots of money just for cams. Unfortunately probably can't swing it now due to costs involved. Sucks.
