Comparing a Slim to a Fat Boy Lo

Other than the fenders, skinny rear tire and the .45" seat height difference, what is the difference in the two?

 

Other then that and a few little cosmetic detail they are mechanically the same.

 

So technically (if I wanted to) I could swap out the fenders and get the same overall look as a Fat Boy Lo?

Yes, except things like you having spoked wheels and the fatboy has solid wheels. Also, your handlebars are different and a bunch of other little differences. But the parts should all bolt right up with little hassle.

 

Pretty sure the struts are different and the fender is wider on the lo. Don't think it will bolt right up. Not sure but that's my thoughts

 

Pretty much most of the Softails are like legos where you could pull parts from one and put them on the other. Once you strip them to motor and frame, there's not much different going on there between them.

 

I would have thought the answers to the OPs original question were pretty obvious.......douchebag

I addressed this in your other post about a wider rear. You can just replace the rear end with a fatboy and get the tire width you want. Im not sure if he still has them but Zedrex was going to do the conversion and decided not too. He had them up for sale.

And brett is right it is cheaper to just buy the lo. As a matter of fact you may be in a better position to just trade your bike in... take the loss and get the fatboy. It may even be cheaper to do it that way. You would only have to pay taxes on the difference...
If you decide to do that you might as well just get a regular fatboy and customize it to how you want it.

If i could do it all over again i would have just bought a used Nightrain. But too late for that!

 

I think the only other Softail I'd own would be a Deluxe. I love the looks of them, but I have already dumped too much money into the Deuce and I love it, so fortunately I'm not in the position like some guys where they're wanting to off load their bikes for another model.
