I have been having problems with when I use my front brakes on my night train the lever seems to stay in some and the brake light stays on-especially if I pull it hard. Is my master cylinder screwed up? What the hell is going on and how do I fix it? It does it with the stock levers or my aftermarket ones.
I had the exact same problem with my 12 Fatboy. Still under warranty I took it to the dealer thinking it was the switch. The mechanic told me he had seen the same issue a couple of times already and that there had been some communication from HD about it. If I remember right it was a known issue on the newer Softails with the single front disk. Issue was infact the Master Cylinder as you mentioned. They did replace it under warranty.
I did replace the levers, the switch still clicks in and out. It acts like the lever is not springing back out all the way to push the switch to shut the light off. I have to push out on the lever to get it turned off.

Sounds like you broke the switch when you changed the levers pretty common deal if you dont know what your doing with that little switch
If you pull the lever back and see a hole on the end of the switch plunger where a nub used to be then you broke it. Google a pic to compare. Story808 suggested that I bore that hole out with a small drill bit and put a small wood screw in it when I broke mine 3 years ago. It has worked ever since.
If it turns out that your switch is bad and you decide to replace it yourself. Save some money and buy one from ebay for 16 bucks. Dealer wants 60 bucks for the same part.
